The Use of Literary Techniques in "My Papa's Waltz"

Any interpretation of My Papas Waltz has to take into account the complexity of the speakers feelings that ar brought ab off by his fathers waltz. The second stanza begins with the words We romped, undercutting the serious stride of the first stanza, notwithstanding their romping has con ranges of the seriousness: Pans fall from the shelf, and the speakers mother frowns in disapproval.
